Emily is our head teacher. She possesses a Montessori teaching certification, and she has more than 35 years of experience in teaching preschool and pre-kindergarten. She is a certified Kindermusik teacher. She gets her certifications in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid every 2 years.
She has a preschool administration credential. She has held many seminars on parenting, and she continues to mentor parents on an individual basis. She feels like it’s her gift and calling to help all people learn to treat their children with the highest respect and regard.
Her passion for learning is demonstrated by her graduation from Cal State Channel Islands. She was honored as magna cum laude in Early Childhood Studies. Emily holds a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on Psychology from the Pepperdine University. She has just completed her doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC).
Mariella is one of our teachers. She brings warmth and loving energy to all of her work involving children. She enthusiastically teaches the children about conversational Spanish, vocabulary, and numbers. Mariella received her training from the American Montessori Society.
Her experience as a certified Montessori classroom teacher is invaluable to our school. She offers her more than 22 years of experience as a teacher to further enrich the children's time at Blue House Children’s Montessori.
Patsy is one of our teachers. She was raised in the Montessori method, and she has very fond memories of her Montessori schooling. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She is naturally gifted in communication with young children. She has been associated with our school since 2000 as a parent, board member, and teacher.
She brings a wealth of ideas, skills, and genuineness in all areas of the classroom. She has been trained in the Montessori method through her years of service at this school. She is our librarian, skillfully choosing and reading a multitude of stories to our eager students each day.
Micah is one of our teachers. He started school in the Montessori method. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Master of Arts degree in Finance from the University of San Francisco. His teaching experience started when he was a teen teaching woodworking.
He held positions of responsibility in the Sea Scouts of America at Catalina Island, serving as a leader of younger scouts. Before entering college, he was a gymnastics teacher at California Cartwheel. Currently, he is a teacher at this school in between degrees, and he continues to teach here part time.
Micah brings a wealth of knowledge in language, arts, mathematics, woodworking, and physical education. He shows his deep respect for the students while guiding them during their lessons.
Jacob has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is a private music teacher for children. He is a gifted music teacher who inspires the love for performance and music to all the children he teaches.
He was raised in the Montessori Method. Jacob speaks compassionately to children, and he is a valuable asset to our school. He remains on our list of part-time teachers.
We have been very fortunate to attract college students who are finishing their California teaching courses. Many of them have been part-time assistants in the recent years, and we endeavor to pull them from this area of the community.
